Hello friends,

And now for something a little different…

Calling the hale, the hearty, the neighborly and all blue jean sky dreamers:

We are going to have a tree planting day at Nowhere Else this Sunday.

If your weekend plans are flexible, and you’re feeling spontaneous, join us Sunday at 11am on the farm. We have 50 trees to plant – we’ll see how far we get!

It’s supposed to be a glorious fall Sunday. We’ll no doubt have a handsome bonfire going near the apple trees. Karin is making her famous chili. (I can vouch for it!) Our friend Tracy is making iron skillet cornbread. (Not sure how long it will last.) We’ll have some fresh cider from the orchard down the road.

If you’re in need of a change of scenery, a little adventure and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty, pack a light lunch (just in case) and come on out.

Bring a spade (or two), work gloves, sturdy walking shoes or boots, layers of clothing, a warm hat.

Someone said the meaning of life is to plant trees whose shade someone else will enjoy.

Maybe so.

If you would like to join us, please email otrhine@aol.com and put RSVP and number of folks coming. We’ll send you a few more details and see you on the farm.

Rivers and oceans and trees too,

Linford and Karin

We had a lovely trip last week through the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. Splashes of colors in the hills like tattered bits of song flung here and there by an unseen hand. Ghosts in the trees…

Thanks to all you lovelies who came out to the shows.

We have some additional musical adventures on the books:

NOVEMBER

November 2&3, KANSAS CITY, MO, PILGRIM CHAPEL (SOLD OUT) (It’s been awhile since we played KC! Looking forward to two extended evenings of music and our debut in this beautiful, intimate space.)

November 4, ST. LOUIS, MO, OLD ROCK HOUSE (We know a thing or two about river towns. Again, it’s been awhile: Our last time through was in 2013.)

December 20, CINCINNATI, OH, Taft Theatre ~ Over the Rhine in concert with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra! 50 musicians join us for this special concert featuring songs from all three of our Christmas records, plus a few traditional tunes and more.
This is a concert of a lifetime for us, and our only holiday concert East of the Mississippi this year. Hope you can join us!

AND JUST ADDED: December 31, CHICAGO, IL, Old Town School of Folk Music ~ A special New Year’s Eve concert (at one of our favorite venues) with Karin at the microphone and Linford at the grand piano. Torch songs, infamous love songs and much more to ring in a brand new year.

Please feel free to share all of the above with your favorite people.

Rave on,

L&K
