Dear extended musical family,

We are sending this dispatch from Nowhere Else to wish each and every one of you a happy and meaningful Thanksgiving.

Does the road wind up-hill all the way? Yes, to the very end, the poet Christina Rosetti reminds us. There is by no means a guarantee that life gets easier as the years pass. But she also assures us there is much to be grateful for along the way, not least: meeting other wayfarers.

So first, thanks to all of you who have found us for sharing the years and miles, tears and smiles. It has made all the difference. And there is still so much music left to be made.

We are grateful to be safely home from our tour of Europe. Thanks to all who came out to our concerts in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. We carry so many new images with us, including an unforgettable final show at Union Chapel in London.

Now more than ever, I find myself panning back, and feeling a bit overwhelmed at times that Karin and I have been able to write and record songs for a living and share them with the extended family that has coalesced around our life's work. Though we have worked hard (a long obedience in the same direction?) it doesn't necessarily feel like this vocation is something we deserve. At the end of the day, it still feels mostly like a gift.

As we aired out some of our brand new songs (as well as the tried and true) in that beautiful space in London in front of a lively, warm audience, we remembered that we will be marking the 30th anniversary of Over the Rhine in 2019. We decided in the moment that maybe we should just start celebrating immediately. And why not?

Let's get together.

It's the best time of year for music, and we hope you'll make plans with your loved ones to come out and see us before 2018 gets away. Let's lift a glass to 30 years of music, and lean hard into hope for much more holy ruckus to come. Join us!

Again, so grateful to all of you that this music still has such a good life over 20 years after it was recorded.

Finally, make plans with your loved ones to join us on the farm for Nowhere Else Festival 2019, next Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26. We'll look back on 30 years of music making and look ahead to much more. It's a deeply inspiring weekend full of kick-ass beauty that will leave you basking in the afterglow. Enjoy the discounted prices while they last.

We have a new Over the Rhine record. Still putting the finishing touches on the artwork. We will be telling you much more about it soon. Can't wait for you to hear this one. And we are so grateful to all of you who pitched in to help us make new music. More to come

Again, have a wonderful thanksgiving, and we hope to see you soon.

Love & Revelation,

Linford and Karin
