"And suddenly you know: It's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings."

Meister Eckhart
~Philosopher, theologian and mystic

Hello,

I wanted to share something with you that Karin wrote yesterday:

“Our dear brother and mentor, Joe Henry, refers to September 1st as New Year’s Day. For him it feels like a day of starting over, of new beginnings, of saying farewell to the past and hello to the unknown mysteries of the future, recommitting ourselves fully to meaningful work.

This has been true for me as well this season, as we have shared incredible joy over the past weekend in witnessing the marriage of our godson to his beautiful bride. There are hints of an early Fall in the air, and the leaves on the trees feel the turning. Other changes are afoot and we are grateful and relieved, inspired and leaning in.

Happy New Year to you, September. We welcome you and all you bring.”

When I read Karin’s words, it felt like a blessing I wanted to receive.

As we contemplate the year ahead, we are happy to announce that early bird tickets for Nowhere Else Festival are now on sale. In many ways, these annual gatherings on the farm —these extended musical family reunions— have become the highlight of our working year. It’s a rare chance for many of us to meet in the same place for a weekend overflowing with music, art, earth and sky. It’s a deep swig of kickass beauty and an invitation to enter an enduring conversation. And truthfully, the inspiration billows our sails long after the music fades.

Can you believe this will be the fifth annual Nowhere Else Festival?

Gareth Higgins, our host last year, said our festival was a story without an ending that we are all writing together.

We hope you can join us Memorial Day Weekend, May 22-24.

Check out NowhereElseFestival.com for deeply discounted early bird tickets and more info. We’ll see you on the farm.

One year ago today, we were putting the final touches on the songs that became Love & Revelation. Again, huge gratitude to all of you who pitched in to help us release new music into the wild, and thanks for giving these songs a good life as they continue to make their way in the world. There is more to come! Stay tuned.

Three years ago today, we said goodbye to our big blue dream, Minnie Pearl. We still miss her every day. Our dogs remain some of our most important teachers.

We’ll leave it there for now.

Have a wonderful September.

Love & Revelation,

Linford and Karin
