Great evening of music. Kim was incredible...leaves me mesmerized on
songs like "Days like This" and "Greatest Story." And, of course, the OtR
set was full of amazing stuff. "Hurt" was definitely on top of my list
of highlights...though their arrangement of "When I Go" absolutely kills.
As a side note...Nick did a great job of remedying some of the sound gremlins that plagued the first set...and Linford is indeed a "seasoned professional" for being able to play through the entire first set with a monitor that spent most of its time not working. [note: bring extra cords!]
While the number of "apples" was down a bit last night, it was still a joy to see the ones who were there....to enjoy the music and a few laughs. It was Sarah's (my wife) second show, and my only regret of the night was that--due to the late hour and our need to drive back to Louisville--we couldn't hang around afterward....I was hoping to introduce Sarah to Karin. Next time, hopefully.
I had the same thought on "Hometown Boy," Jeanne...whether it's true or not, it seems like that songs had extra emotion behind it from Karin the last couple times I've heard it (St.E's and CST.) And, "We're Gonna Pull Through" has had a special place for me after what Sarah went through last year.
Great nite. Great music. Great friends.
