fortunately i was able to make it up to dayton for the show last night.
first, they delivered a wonderful set, adding one more new one to the mix by playing "favorite time of light" for the first time.
it was an interesting crowd for a CST show on a saturday night, there wasn't the usual cast of regulars and imho (and agreed to my many), the audience was usually subdued and distant, reponding most of the night with what matty the bartender called polite "golf claps."
karin tried pretty hard drawing them in the whole first set and they just never seemed to join in full force. the second set, it seemed the band just settled, played hard, had fun and dealt with what they had to work with, very unsusal for saturday night @ CST.
i'm not sure what it was, if it was the lower than usual turnout of "regulars," maybe more casual fans, coupled w/7 or 8 new songs they were unfamilar with or what, but whatever it was it was a strange audience that a CST just never seemed "connect."
regardless, i connected and it was a great show and i was damn happy
to be sitting there.
also, i posted up some great pics, courtesty of darrin ballman, on their
facebook and myspace pages. go check 'em out (but come back here afterwards!
wink.gif ).
