LOCATION: Cornerstone, Acoustic Stage, Bushnell, IL

LINEUP: Karin, Linford, Jack

REVIEW BY: Various Listees

Christian D Lindemer:
Bothered
Go Down Easy
Jesus In New Orleans (See what I was talking about? Foreshadowing!)
Green-Clouded Swallowtail
Poughkeepsie (Karin dedicated this to a certain list member. I'm
sure you all could never guess who, but I'll leave actually telling
you all about it to that certain person.)
Lucy (Before this song, Karin again confirmed that Jack is moving
(back) to Scotland. She also said she and Linford will visit him in
his new home sometime in August, so I assume Jack is moving
relatively soon.)
Etcetera Whatever (K & L)
Like A Radio
- --The band left the stage, but true to form, returned in a few
moments. Karin said they were not expecting to give an encore, which
a set list sheet later backed up. The next two songs were played as
requests.--
Orphan Girl
Rhapsodie

This show seemed a little more informal, and maybe a bit more
intimate. It's amazing what natural light can do for a performance,
expecially when one is ten feet closer to the stage.

Jack revealed that the hat he was wearing was made by his wife; the
site where you can purchase such headwear is
http://www.hotheads.me.uk/. Unfortunately, the site appears to be
still under construction. Maybe I got the URL wrong, but I don't
think so.
Jeff Holland:

Brownhouse played on Saturday about two hours before Over the Rhine's
show at the New Band tent. I think their loudest fans were Karin
and Linford who slipped in back of the tent. The keyboard player got
a big, wide grin from them when he slipped the intro to "Little Blue
River" in during their soundcheck. I enjoyed Brownhouse quite a
bit, but I only got to see three or four songs before I had to run
off to catch another band.

   Acoustic setlist:

   Bothered
   Go Down Easy
   Jesus in New Orleans
   Green Clouded Swallowtail
   Poughkeepsie
   Lucy
   Etc. Whatever
   Like A Radio/Ain't No Sunshine
   Orphan Girl
   ---
   Rhapsodie

There was some really heavy band playing in a nearby tent and
you could hear their drum and bass throughout the show. You haven't
lived until you've heard Etc. Whatever with a double kick-drum beating
at 120 beats per minute underneath it. Linford said this would be
their "dance re-mix" version of the song.

The Like A Radio/Ain't No Sunshine song was pretty cool. I hadn't
heard it before, so that was a treat for me.

Regarding Jack's move to Scotland and the future, based on my
conversations with the band and with people close to the band, I
gather that Karin and Linford haven't thought much about what they
are going to do in 2003 or they are not ready to tell us yet. I'm
not too worried. They will probably fly in Jack when they can for
an extended string of shows, play without a guitar player (Linford
has been playing guitar on more and more songs lately), or pick
up someone to guest with them. Should be exciting.
Kylie Wilkerson:
On to the next day...Linford informed us that they would be signing stuff at
their merch booth in the afternoon. So, Joe bought a cd and with that
purchase we got a free poster and then had them signed. Again, cool
experience. (Jack, you rock!) I just seriously love these people for their
genuine-ness. After that we went over to the new band stage to see
Brownhouse, pretty much b/c K and L said we all should. They're good, I
really enjoyed their concert. Following that we headed to the acoustic stage
to get good seats. Riki Michelle was playing...wow! Anyhoo, we got to sit
with the listies again. Had the opp to meet Mark from Holland after this
concert...poor guy got his stuff stolen from some jerk. (and ps shame on the
listies who didn't introduce themselves!) Soo...this concert was just, well
I really have no words. :) As Smitty said, Poughkeepsie was dedicated to a
list member. That list member was me. :) Tears come to my eyes just thinkin
about it. (thank you, Karin and Linford) I will never forget that moment.
Whew, moving on...This was a much shorter concert. It was a great, great
show. Again, ya'll already have the setlist. Kind of sad, being Jack's last
concert and all while living in the states. (he's not finished yet) My
boyfriend now owns the pick Jack played with at this show. :)
I wish you all could have been at Cstone to see these shows. Like if heaven
was a concert, OtR would have been the main act...err something. :) Does it
get any better than this?
