I'd heard from the friends I trade with in the Northeast that the Iron Horse is a "must-see" venue if you're on the East coast. I decided to make the drive and check it out. The club is tiny, with a great view from everywhere. The sound also was crystal clear,as you might expect. The show was on a Monday night,Columbus Day,so perhaps that's why this one was rather poorly attended. I can't believe a place this small wasn't sold out! The band came out rockin',with Will's drums leading the way into Bothered. I was immediately struck by how much tighter they had become since I last saw them in Cleveland. It was obvious that the band as a unit had clicked, and they sounded much more confident and less tentative. They kept the energy level high throughout the first four or five songs. It seemed to me that their enthusiasm flagged a little in the middle of the set,but after Ohio,it seemed to pick right up again. The versions of World Can Wait and When I Go certainly lacked nothing! This day will always remain a pleasant memory,as I had one of my favorite OTR fantasies come true. I have always wanted to hear Karin sing informally. No PA,microphone or anything. I was in the right place at the right time and had the pleasure of hearing that happen. Sweet!
