A little over an hour drive from Madison is Milwaukee- probably the
beer, brat, bowling and polka capitol of America. I spent most of the day
CD shopping, checking out Brady Street and few other points of interest.
The Miramar is a few miles north of downtown. It was kind of a dank, dark
place.
And once again the place was not packed at all. Now this OtR show has to go down as one of funnest shows I've been too. I wish this one would've been recorded. The set list needs Drunkards Prayer added in the encore between Hush Now and Prez. They added it when someone shouted it out for a request. The fun moments- many!
Mickey got a standing ovation for his drum solo on Kiddin'.
On this tour Linford's been talking about firing up a grill to cook some wieners in the alley after the shows. So on their way to the hotel to rest before the show, out front was the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. Linford said they should adopt it as a sponsor. At this point Mickey decided we all needed to sing the Oscar Meyer theme song. And we all did- a rousing version of If I Were An Oscar Meyer Wiener...
And after Goodbye Charles, Linford had some problems he needed checking on the sound of his piano. So he said to bear with him as he was tuning. Soon he started playing the Charlie Brown Christmas theme song, the rest of the band joined in, and away they went. How fun, and all the while Karin is in the background dancing the way the Peanuts characters dance.
