re: some of the new stuff (both debuted a couple of weeks ago @ CST)"if a song could be pesident," a slightly tongue-in-cheek bit of political satire, done alt-country style; "if a song could be president" (with lines line "steve earle would achor the news | break out of this minor key, half truths and hypocracy, we wouldn't need an underachiever-in chief, if a song could be president | neil young would be a senator, even thought he came from canada, we'd let him do it anyway | emmy lou would be an ambassador, world leaders would listen to her | they would tell us where our country went wrong | john prine would run the FBI, all the criminals would laugh and cry."  all done with a little bit of a country twang & B3...) & "who am i kiddin'" is just a kick ass rocker with karin wailing. the new record is going to be great.

also, about midway of the set karin left the stage and linford spoke about writing "goodbye charles" (i believe he said it was the live debut) and his love of the vince guaraldi piano solos from the charlie brown specials. then he, jake and mickey delivered an incredible extended improvised "goodbye charles" jam. very cool stuff.
