i just want to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who helped transform st. e's into a wonderful, intimate little listening room for a couple of hours this afternoon. hundreds of chairs moved in this afternoon and moved out early this evening, tables broken down and then reset, candles and incense lit, trash picked up, flowers placed, tickets taken and names checked (sorry jeanne and christina, special thanks to ya'll for taking on a much bigger than expected job).

it was an incredible effort achieved by 10-12 special people in a small time frame that helped make this beatiful day of friendship and music better for so many. i'm not going to name names because i'm sure i'll forget someone, but you know who you are and thanks to those of you who came up after the show and asked "what can i do to help?" and/or just saw us stacking and dragging around chairs and just dove in an helped out. K&L asked me to express their thanks to you all for helping make the afternoon happen. thank you all.

and once again, huge props to "the drew" ™ and wendy for putting out one hellua spread of food and drink for all to enjoy once again this year.

It really is amazing to see how the St. Elizabeth's event has grown from Year 1 to this year. Easily double or triple the number of people. As I was watching around me, I kept asking myself 'where do all these people come from out of the woodworks"? Same thing at the Taft shows. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I think it's fantastic. But it seems there is a certain segment that shows up for the Christmas-OtR events and that's their OtR fill for the year.

Loved how Linford commented on the "French" waffles, and then later correcting it to Belgian waffles, with Karin cracking a joke to boot on how Belgians all know 17 languages! Haha! I wish! (4 will do biggrin.gif) But that aside, the guy that owns the waffles joint, Jean-Francois Flechet, is a totally cool guy, and his waffles are THE BEST, bar none. If you are curious to find out where in the city you can find these delicious waffles, please visit www.tastefrombelgium.com. Or just go to Kim Taylor's coffee shop called Pleasant Perk, located in Pleasant Ridge, across the street from Everybody's Records.

I think I've already expressed this in another post, but just in case: a HUUUUUUUGE thank you to Karin and Linford for making this truly magical weekend possible. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Also a huge thanks to all the other musicians, crew and volunteers who were involved directly or indirectly in making this happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
